EAL Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

EAL 2 day course

11th & 12th September

This PAT Testing Course is designed to ensure that those responsible for the management of electrical equipment are familiar with the use of the IEE Code of Practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

This PAT Training course is over 2 days to give you the best chance of a pass and aims to enable delegates to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to be able to instigate and implement a testing programme for portable electrical testing appliances. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a legal accountability on employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and to take reasonable and practical steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of electrical equipment. This requires a regular program of maintenance, inspection and testing.

It is not essential to have any prior electrical knowledge.  However, a basic understanding may be an advantage to candidates attending this PAT testing training course. There is both a practical assessment and an on-line multiple choice exam. (The online examination for the PAT Test will be held either on the second day or if necessary on a separate date to be confirmed on the course)
